2023 European Truck Racing Championship
The 2023 European Truck Racing Championship, also known as the Goodyear European Truck Racing Championship for sponsorship reasons, will be a motor-racing championship using highly tuned tractor units. It is the 39th year of the championship. A nine-round season was announced on 7 December 2022, with the season beginning on 20 May at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and ending on 1 October at the Circuito del Jarama. The season was shortened to eight rounds pre-season due to construction work at the Hungaroring. Schedule A nine-round season was announced on 7 December 2022. All venues from the 2022 season were initially slated to return. Additionally, a new event at Tor Poznań in Poland was added for 2023. On 11 April, the series announced that the scheduled round in Hungary at the Hungaroring was cancelled due to reconstruction work occurring at the venue, dropping the season to eight events. Heusden-Zolder (; li, Heuze-Zolder ) is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality located in the Belgium, Belgian Limburg (Belgium), province of Limburg near Hasselt. The Misano World Circuit (officially known as Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli or Misano Circuit Sic 58, and before 2006 called Circuito Internazionale Santa Monica) is a race track located next to the town of Misano Adriatico (Province of Rimini) in the frazione of Santa Monica-Cella. The Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe (after the 1906 French Grand Prix triangle circuit) located in Le Mans, Sarthe, France, is a semi-permanent motorsport race course, chiefly known as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race. Jochen Hahn (born 18 April 1974, in Altensteig) is a German truck race driver. Team Hahn Racing participates at the ETRC, driving a Mercedes race truck until 2007, when Mercedes decided to stop participating at the ETRC in 2007. Since 2008, the team has raced a MAN race truck. Antonio Albacete Martínez (born 15 January 1965) is a Spanish racing driver. He competed in Formula 3000 in 1987 and spent three years in Spanish Touring Cars, from 1994 until 1996. Norbert "Norbi" Kiss (born 2 May 1985 in Szombathely) is a Hungarian truck race driver. He is a four-time FIA European Truck Racing Championship champion. He is one of the most successful Hungarians in motorsport. Career He began racing with race car simulator, Live for Speed. The success he achieved in the simulator made people become aware of him. In 2005 Norbert Kiss raced for a short season in the Opel Astra Cup with four wins and was nominated Rookie of the Year. In 2006 he won the most prestigious brand cup in Hungary, the Renault Clio Cup at the first attempt. In the series he won ten times and only missed the rostrum once. Adam Lacko (born 24 September 1984) is a Czech auto racing driver. Career Lacko began his career in 1994 in karting. In 2000 he began competing in the Skoda Octavia Cup, in which he finished runner-up in 2002. Lacko made the switch to truck racing in 2003, competing in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, finishing fifth in the standings. He improved to finish third in 2004. In 2005 Lacko made selected appearances in the World Touring Car Championship with IEP Team, and the FIA GT Championship. He began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2006.
