2023 Detroit Lions Season
The 2023 season is the Detroit Lions' 94th season in the National Football League (NFL), their 90th In Detroit, and their third under the head coach/general manager tandem of Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes. The Lions improved upon their 9–8 record from the previous season, after a win against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. The Lions started 8–2 for the first time since 1962. The Lions finished the regular season with a 12–5 record, tying a franchise record for wins and ending up in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC with the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, they would lose both tiebreakers against the 49ers and the Cowboys which would make them end up with the third seed in the NFC. The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North was previously known as the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001. The 2022 season was the Detroit Lions' 93rd in the National Football League (NFL), the 21st playing their home games at Ford Field and their second under the head coach/general manager tandem of Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes. Alex Anzalone (born September 22, 1994) is an American football middle linebacker for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida. The 1957 Detroit Lions season was the franchise's 28th season in the National Football League (NFL) and their 24th as the Detroit Lions. Under first-year head coach George Wilson, the Lions won their fourth and most recent NFL title. In the penultimate regular season game with the Cleveland Browns on December 8, hall of fame quarterback Bobby Layne was lost for the season with a broken right ankle. With backup Tobin Rote in at quarterback in the second quarter, the Lions won that game and overcame a ten-point deficit at halftime the following week to defeat the Chicago Bears 21–13, whom they had lost to three weeks earlier at home. The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since.
