2022–23 Utah Utes Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Utah Utes women's basketball team represented the University of Utah during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Utes, led by eighth year head coach Lynne Roberts, played their home games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center and competed as members of the Pac-12 Conference. Previous season The Utes finished the season with a record of 21–12, and a 8–7 record in Pac-12 play to finish in sixth place. They advance to championship of the Pac-12 women's tournament where they lost to Stanford. They got an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tournament for the first time since 2011 where they defeat Arkansas in the first round which was their first win since 2009 before losing to Texas in the second round. Lynne Roberts (basketball)
Lynne Renee Roberts (born August 28, 1975) is the women's basketball head coach at the University of Utah. She has also served as head coach at Chico State and Pacific. Early life and education Roberts was born and raised in Redding, California. She would attend Enterprise High where she would earn 12 varsity letters and was awarded the 1993 Northern Section Player of the Year. Roberts attended Seattle Pacific University, where she played for the Falcons. During her time with the Falcons (1993-1997), Roberts set a school record for 3-pointers made in one season at 82 and for three-point percentage in a game when she made 7 of 8 against Willamette. Roberts regards her most memorable moment at college when she made the game winning 3-pointers to defeat Division I's UC Davis Aggies. Roberts graduated in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in history. California Golden Bears Women's Basketball
The California Golden Bears women's basketball team is the women's college basketball team of the University of California, Berkeley. The program has been to the NCAA tournament a total of nine times, and won three conference championships. The current head coach is Charmin Smith, who was hired on June 21, 2019. The team plays its home games at Haas Pavilion, which was built on top of the old Harmon Gymnasium using money donated in part by the owners of Levi-Strauss. Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California)
Mater Dei High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Santa Ana, California. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Mater Dei is known for its strong sports programs, especially in football, and for its multiple graduates who have won the Heisman Trophy. The USC Trojans women's basketball team, or the Women of Troy, is the collegiate women's basketball team that represents the University of Southern California, in the Pac-12 Conference. Alissa Katelina Pili (born June 8, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for the Utah Utes and USC Trojans. Early life Pili was born in Anchorage, Alaska, to Heather and Billy Pili and is of Samoan and Inupiaq descent. She played football as a lineman from third to eighth grade as the only girl in her league and started playing organized basketball at age eight.
