2022–23 Quinnipiac Bobcats Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2022–23 Quinnipiac Bobcats Men's ice hockey season was the 47th season of play for the program, the 25th at the Division I level and 18th in ECAC Hockey. The Bobcats represented Quinnipiac University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season, were coached by Rand Pecknold in his 29th season, and played their home games at the M&T Bank Arena. The team won the 2023 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey tournament for the first national championship in program history. Season Roster changes Despite coming within a whisker of reaching the Frozen Four in 2022, Quinnipiac saw a great deal of turnover in its roster. The Quinnipiac Bobcats men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Connecticut. History Quinnipiac College began sponsoring men's ice hockey as a varsity sport for the 1975–76 season. The program began as an independent team before joining ECAC 3 the following year. The program remained with the third-tier conference for over 20 years despite being a Division II school for much of that time. The Braves left ECAC 3 in 1997 and spent a year as a D-II independent before moving up to Division I as part of the university's transition to the top level. Yaniv Perets
Yaniv Perets (born March 4, 2000) is a Canadian professional goaltender currently under contract with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played collegiate hockey for Quinnipiac University. Playing career Amateur During the 2018–19 season, Perets appeared in 36 games for the Boston Junior Bruins of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), where he posted a 23–10–1 record, with a 2.48 goals-against-average (GAA), and a .929. save percentage. He helped lead the Bruins to the Dineen Cup as league champions and was named NCDC Goaltender of the Year. In October 2018, he committed to play college ice hockey for the Quinnipiac Bobcats during the 2020–21 season. Dartmouth Big Green Men's Ice Hockey
The Dartmouth Big Green men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Dartmouth College. The Big Green are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the Thompson Arena in Hanover, New Hampshire. History Early years Dartmouth College fielded their first ice hockey team in January 1906, winning their first game 4–3. The team played an expanded schedule the next two years but after a 1–5–1 finish in 1908 the program hired its first head coach and promptly posted a 10–3–1 record. The North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey team (UND) is the college ice hockey team at the Grand Forks campus of the University of North Dakota. The LIU Sharks men's ice hockey team represents Long Island University in NCAA Division I ice hockey. The school announced their intention to begin a varsity schedule for the 2020–21 season on April 30, 2020.
