2022–23 Perth Wildcats Season
The 2022–23 Perth Wildcats season was the 42nd season of the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL), and their first under the leadership of their new head coach John Rillie. After having qualified for the NBL finals for the 35 consecutive years preceding 2022, the Wildcats' play-in tournament loss to the Cairns Taipans on 12 February 2023 meant that the Wildcats failed to qualify for the NBL finals for a second consecutive season. Arena Joondalup
Arena Joondalup, known as HBF Arena under a commercial naming rights arrangement, is a multi-purpose sports complex in Joondalup, Western Australia, located on 35 ha of parkland approximately 25 km north of Perth. It was officially opened in 1994. An $11 million indoor aquatic centre, including a 50 m 10-lane competition pool, was completed in 2000. The capacity of the outdoor sports ground, known as Pentanet Stadium, is 16,000 people. Along with aquatic and swimming facilities, the stadium holds seven indoor basketball courts, as well as outdoor netball, field hockey, tennis, and rugby facilities. Queensland State Netball Centre
The Queensland State Netball Centre, also known commercially as Nissan Arena, is a multi-purpose facility located in the southern Brisbane suburb of Nathan. The centre features a 5,000 seat indoor arena that is the home court of Super Netball team the Queensland Firebirds, as well as National Basketball League club the Brisbane Bullets. It is the administrative headquarters of Netball Queensland and provides training facilities for elite-level and community-based netball clubs in Queensland. Majok Maker Majok (born 10 December 1992) is a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player who last played for the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Ball State Cardinals for two years, leading the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in rebounding and earning third-team all-conference honors in both seasons. Early life and career Majok was born in Rumbek, South Sudan, and moved to Australia when he was eight. His family settled in Perth. He initially played soccer before developing a liking for basketball in high school at Kingsway Christian College. Derwent Entertainment Centre
Derwent Entertainment Centre, also known as the DEC and known commercially as MyState Bank Arena, is the largest indoor arena in Tasmania and the multi-purpose arena is the primary venue in Hobart for large indoor functions/events. It was constructed in 1989 and is situated in between the waterfront of the River Derwent, the Brooker Highway and Tattersalls Park. At maximum capacity, the DEC can accommodate 8,600 people. The Cairns Convention Centre is a convention and entertainment centre in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The venue was selected the World's Best Congress Centre in 2004 and 2014. 2022–23 Brisbane Bullets Season
The 2022–23 Brisbane Bullets season was the 37th season of the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL). On 25 November 2022, James Duncan was released as Bullets' head coach after the team started the season with a 3–6 record and was replaced by Sam Mackinnon on an interim basis.
