2022–23 Pakistan Cup
The 2022–23 Pakistan Cup was a List A cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 10 December 2022 to 3 January 2023. Balochistan were the defending champions. Central Punjab won the competition, defeating Balochistan by 50 runs in the final. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. Sindh Cricket Team
Sindh cricket team is a domestic cricket team in Pakistan representing Sindh province. It competes in domestic first-class, List A and T20 cricket competitions, namely the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan Cup and National T20 Cup. The team is operated by the Sindh Cricket Association. History Before 2019 Sindh played its first first-class game in December 1932, when they drew with Ceylon at the Gymkhana ground in Karachi. On 22 November 1935 Sindh and Australia played a three day match - Figure 1. The match was seen by 5,000 Karachiites. The team played its inaugural season in the Ranji Trophy in 1934. Asif Yaqoob (born 11 November 1973) is a Pakistani cricket umpire. He has officiated in Pakistan Super League. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between Pakistan and Australia on 26 October 2018. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, also between Pakistan and Australia, on 27 March 2019. In January 2020, he was named as one of the sixteen umpires for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup tournament in South Africa. Syed Aaley Haider, born at Karachi, Pakistan, on 4 December 1973, was a cricketer who played first-class cricket in Pakistan for several teams, and also played for and captained the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team in two under-19 Test matches in 1991-92. A right-hand batsman and an occasional off-break bowler, Aaley Haider came to prominence by scoring 103 in his first youth Test match in 1991-92 and leading his side to an innings victory over the England Under-19 cricket team. Usman Salahuddin ( ur, ; born 2 December 1990) is a Pakistani international cricketer who was selected to play against the West Indies for the May 2011 series. Salahuddin averages 36 in List A cricket and 47 in First-class cricket. Duckworth–Lewis–Stern Method
The Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method (DLS) is a mathematical formulation designed to calculate the target score (number of runs needed to win) for the team batting second in a limited overs cricket match interrupted by weather or other circumstances. The method was devised by two English statisticians, Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis (mathematician), Tony Lewis (not to be confused with former cricketer Tony Lewis), and was formerly known as the Duckworth–Lewis method (D/L). It was introduced in 1997, and adopted officially by the ICC in 1999. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress.
