2022–23 Miami Hurricanes Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Miami Hurricanes women's basketball team represented the University of Miami during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Hurricanes were led by eighteenth-year head coach Katie Meier and played their home games at the Watsco Center as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 22–13 overall and 11–7 in ACC play to finish in a tie for sixth place. As the sixth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated eleventh seed Boston College in the Second Round before losing to third seeded Virginia Tech in the Quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they were the ninth seed in the Greenville 2 Regional. Katie Meier
Katie Meier (born December 19, 1967) is head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She is a 1990 graduate of Duke University, where she played college basketball. As of 2022, Meier has the most wins of any coach of the University of Miami women's basketball team in the program's 50-year history. Playing career Meier's success as a coach is a direct reflection on her playing career as a stand-out at Duke University. A four-year letter winner for the Blue Devils under head coach Debbie Leonard from 1986–90, Meier's name is scattered throughout the Duke record books. In 1990, Meier was named to the team representing the United States at the William Jones Cup competition in Taipei, Taiwan. 2022 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference women's basketball tournament concluded the 2021–22 season of the Atlantic Coast Conference, and was held at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 2–6, 2022. This is the 22nd time in 23 years that the tournament has been held in Greensboro. The NC State Wolfpack claimed the title of ACC Champion and an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament for the third year in a row. Seeds All 15 ACC teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Upper Marlboro, officially the Town of Upper Marlboro, is the seat of Prince George's County, Maryland. The 2021–22 South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team represented the University of South Carolina during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Gamecocks were led by 14th-year head coach Dawn Staley and played their home games at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC. They competed as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The 2021–22 South Florida Bulls women's basketball team represented the University of South Florida in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bulls, coached by Jose Fernandez in his 22nd season, played their home games at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. The 2021–22 NC State Wolfpack women's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wolfpack were led by ninth-year head coach Wes Moore and played their home games at Reynolds Coliseum as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
