2022–23 Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Iowa State Cyclones women's basketball team represented Iowa State University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cyclones are coached by Bill Fennelly, who is in his 28th season at Iowa State. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa as members of the Big 12 Conference. Previous season The Cyclones finished the 2021–22 season 28–7, 14–4 in Big 12 play to finish in second place. The Cyclones defeated West Virginia in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament before falling to Texas in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the 2021 NCAA tournament as a 3rd seed in the Greensboro Region where they defeating 14 seed UT Arlington in the first round and 6th seed Georgia in the second round before getting upset by 10th seed Creighton in the sweet sixteen. Bill Fennelly
William Michael Fennelly (born May 14, 1957) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at Iowa State University. Coaching career Assistant coach (1977–1986) While a student at William Penn College, Fennelly became a volunteer assistant coach with the William Penn women's basketball team in 1977. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics in 1979, Fennelly became a full-time assistant coach with William Penn. Fennelly moved up to the Division I level as an assistant coach at Fresno State from 1981 to 1986 and Notre Dame from 1986 to 1988. Toledo (1988–1995) At the University of Toledo, Fennelly was head coach from 1988 to 1995 and had a cumulative record of 166–53, with a .758 winning percentage that remains the best in the Mid-American Conference. Maryville High School (Tennessee)
Maryville High School (MHS) is currently a three-year public high school with grades 10–12. It was founded in 1918 in Maryville, Tennessee and is a part of the Maryville City Schools system. In the 2009–2010 year, there were approximately 1,558 students enrolled, and the senior class consisted of 352 students. With 107 faculty members, the staff-to-student ratio was approximately 1:15. Maryville, Tennessee
Maryville is a city in and the county seat of Blount County, Tennessee, and is a suburb of Knoxville. Its population was 31,907 at the 2020 census. Marshall, Minnesota
Marshall is a city in Lyon County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 13,680 at the 2010 census. Marshall is a regional center in southwest Minnesota, and the county seat of Lyon County. Audi Crooks
Audi Rae Crooks (born December 13, 2004) is an American college basketball player for the Iowa State Cyclones of the Big 12 Conference. She plays the center position. Crooks attended Bishop Garrigan High School in her hometown of Algona, Iowa, where she won back-to-back state titles and was named Iowa Miss Basketball as a senior. A four-star recruit, she left as the state's all-time leader in field goals made, as well as the state tournament's all-time leader in points and rebounds. Crooks also won four state titles in track and field, including three straight in the shot put. As a freshman at Iowa State, Crooks notably scored 40 points against Maryland in the first round of the 2024 NCAA tournament, setting a new single-game tournament record for freshmen. The Master's University is a private non-denominational Christian university in Santa Clarita, California. History The college was founded in 1927. Stephanie Soares (born 17 April 2000) is a Brazilian professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
