2022–23 Indian Super League
The 2022–23 Indian Super League is the ninth season of the Indian Super League, the first season as the only top division, and the 27th season of top tier Indian football. It commenced on 7 October 2022 and is scheduled to end in March 2023. Jamshedpur are the defending premiers, and Hyderabad are the defending champions. Changes from last season * Six instead of four clubs will compete for the playoffs. The top two clubs qualify directly for the playoffs, while the next four sides will play a single-legged match to decide the remaining two teams for the semifinals. Indian Super League
The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The league currently comprises 11 clubs. Each season of the tournament generally runs from October to March. During the league stage of the competition, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (also known as the Marina Arena) is a multi-purpose stadium in Chennai, India. It has a capacity to seat 40,000 people. It hosts football matches and athletic competitions.
