2022 World Indoor Bowls Championship
The 2022 Just World Indoor Bowls Championship took place at Potters Leisure Resort, Hopton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, England, from 7–23 January 2022. The event is organised by the World Bowls Tour, and will be televised by the BBC and streamed live on YouTube. The Open Singles was won by the sixth seed Les Gillett who overcame five times champion Paul Foster. Gillett won the first set by virtue of overtaking Foster's lead during the final ends. Foster comfortably won the second set before Gillett won the tie break. Katherine Rednall won a record breaking fourth women's singles title. In the open pairs Stewart Anderson and Darren Burnett defeated defending champions Mark Dawes and Jamie Chestney to win their second title together. Paul Foster and Alison Merrien won the mixed pairs title. Hopton-on-Sea
Hopton-on-Sea is a village, civil parish and seaside resort on the coast of East Anglia in the county of Norfolk. The village is south of Great Yarmouth, north-west of Lowestoft and near the UK's most easterly point, Lowestoft Ness. The village has many amenities for tourists with amusement arcades and food outlets. It is also home to Potters Resort, the first permanent, mixed-use holiday camp in the UK, founded in 1920. This employs approximately 560 permanent staff making it the largest private sector employer in the area. Wayne Willgress (born 1988) in Mulbarton, Norfolk, is an English male lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Willgress was an England Junior international and was the National triples champion in 2007 and singles runner-up in 2012 during the Men's National Championships.
