2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a series of races in Olympic Cross-Country (XCO), Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE), and Downhill (DHI). Each discipline has an Elite Men and an Elite Women category. There are also under-23 categories in the XCO and junior categories in the DHI. The cross-country series has nine rounds and the downhill series eight rounds, some of which are held concurrently. Tom Pidcock
Thomas Pidcock (born 30 July 1999) is a British cyclist who currently competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport for UCI WorldTeam . After a prodigious junior and under-23 career with World Championship victories in all three of these disciplines, Pidcock turned professional in 2021. Since then his biggest victories have been the cross-country mountain biking at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2022 and the prestigious spring classic, Strade Bianche in 2023. Across all three disciplines, he has won numerous other races, with his biggest victory on the road in his first season being the 2021 Brabantse Pijl road classic. Ramona Forchini (born 14 June 1994) is a Swiss racing cyclist. She rode in the women's road race event at the 2017 UCI Road World Championships. David Valero Serrano (born 27 December 1988 in Baza, Granada) is a Spanish cross-country mountain biker. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won the bronze medal in the Men's cross-country event. Vallnord
Vallnord () is a ski/snowboard resort in the Pyrenees mountains in the country of Andorra, close to the border with Spain at Tor, Pallars. Overview It encompasses the linked sectors of Pal and Arinsal (the sectors were linked by a cable car, opened in 2005, from the top of the Arinsal sector) and the Ordino-Arcalis sector some kilometres away. All the separate sectors within Vallnord contain green, blue, red and black rated runs as well as restaurants and ski schools. Alessandra Keller
Alessandra Keller (born 27 January 1996) is a Swiss mountain biker competing in cross country. Keller was born in 1996. She lives in the municipality of Ennetbürgen in the canton of Nidwalden. Alongside Jolanda Neff, she won the 2016 Swiss Epic, a mountain bike stage race. Aged 22 and still eligible to compete in the U23 category, she won the world cup race in Vallnord, Andorra, Short Track Cross-Country race in the elite class. In the cross country, she won the 2018 World Championship in the U23. Keller has been Swiss cross-country champion four times: 2012 in the U17 category, 2013 in the U19 category, 2018 in the U23 category, and in 2022 in the elite class. Lenzerheide ( Romansh: ''Lai'') is a mountain resort in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn. The village lies in the municipality Vaz/Obervaz in the district of Albula, sub-district Alvaschein. The village lies in a broadened section of the valley between the cantonal capital Chur to the north and Tiefencastel, beyond which are the Julier Pass and St Moritz. Laura Stigger (born 25 September 2000) is an Austrian racing cyclist. She won the women's junior road race at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships and the junior Mountain Bike race (XCO) event at the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. She also won the junior Mountain Bike race (XCO) event at the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. To date, Stigger is the only cyclist to win both the Road World Championship and the Mountain Bike World Championship in the same year, winning both titles within twenty-two days. The former was only her second road race ever. In 2017 and 2018, she won every Junior Mountain Bike race she participated in, a total of 26 races, with most of them at international level. Alan Hatherly (born 15 March 1996) is a South African professional mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He finished in 26th place with a time of 1:42:03. In 2018, Alan achieved a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, subsequently going on to be crowned the 2018 Under 23 Cross Country World Champion. In early 2019, it was announced that he would leave South African team, Team Spur, and ride for the Specialized Factory team for 2019. He moved to Cannondale Factory Racing for the 2021 season and beyond. He qualified to represent South Africa at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
