Laura Stigger
Laura Stigger (born 25 September 2000) is an Austrian racing cyclist. She won the women's junior road race at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships and the junior Mountain Bike race (XCO) event at the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. She also won the junior Mountain Bike race (XCO) event at the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. To date, Stigger is the only cyclist to win both the Road World Championship and the Mountain Bike World Championship in the same year, winning both titles within twenty-two days. The former was only her second road race ever. In 2017 and 2018, she won every Junior Mountain Bike race she participated in, a total of 26 races, with most of them at international level. Sina Frei (born 18 July 1997) is a Swiss cross-country cyclist. She participated at the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, winning a medal. On 27 July 2021, Frei won the silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Cape Epic
The Absa Cape Epic, founded by Kevin Vermaak and also known as the Cape Epic, is an annual mountain bike stage race held in the Western Cape, South Africa. First staged in 2004, it has been accredited as ''hors catégorie'' (beyond categorization) by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The eight day race consists of a prologue and seven stages, and typically covers more than with some of climbing. Professional mountain bikers from around the world encompassing up to 650 teams compete teams of two. To qualify for a finish, teams have to stay together for the duration of the race. The race is also open to amateurs, who enter a lottery in order to gain a slot. The times taken to finish each stage are aggregated to determine the overall winning team in each category at the end of the race. 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was a series of races in Olympic Cross-Country (XCO), Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE), and Downhill (DHI). Each discipline had an Elite Men and an Elite Women category. There were also under-23 categories in the XCO and junior categories in the DHI. The cross-country series had two rounds and the downhill series four rounds. Cross-country UCI decided to not award World Cup standings points as just two races were run. Gstaad ( ; ) is a town in the German-speaking section of the Canton of Bern in southwestern Switzerland. It is part of the municipality of Saanen and is known as a major ski resort and a popular destination amongst high society and the international jet set.
