The 2022 Tour de France was the 109th edition of the Tour de France. It started in Copenhagen, Denmark on 1 July and ended with the final stage at Champs-Élysées, Paris on 24 July. Classification standings Stage 1 ;1 July 2022 – Copenhagen (Denmark), The first stage of the Tour featured an individual time trial with a length of on the streets of Copenhagen. The course was pan-flat, with the only intermediate time check taking place after . The course was also technical, featuring more than 20 corners. Rain also greeted the riders, particularly among the first half of starters. Jérémy Lecroq () was the first rider off the start ramp. The first rider to set a benchmark time was Bauke Mollema (), the Dutch time trial champion, with a time of 15' 34". 2022 Tour De France
The 2022 Tour de France was the 109th edition of the Tour de France. It started in Copenhagen, Denmark on 1 July 2022 and ended with the final stage on the Champs-Élysées, Paris on 24 July 2022. Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard () won the general classification for the first time. Two-time defending champion Tadej Pogačar () finished in second place, and former winner Geraint Thomas () finished third. This was the first Tour since 1989 in which each of the three podium finishers had made the podium on a previous occasion. The race began in Copenhagen before returning to France. Wout van Aert of controlled the lead for much of the first week until Pogačar seized control of the race and won two consecutive stages. In the Alps, attacked Pogačar, and Vingegaard became the first rider to take serious time from Pogačar. Filippo Ganna (born 25 July 1996) is an Italian track and road cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is a five-time world champion in the individual pursuit, and has won a total of eight medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Pierre Rolland (born 10 October 1986) is a French professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI ProTeam . He is particularly known for his aggressive style of racing in the mountains. He is a two-time stage winner in the Tour de France and a stage winner in the Giro d'Italia. His most famous win to date came at Alpe d'Huez in the 2011 Tour de France. With his win on the legendary mountain, Rolland has his name on the sign at turn 16 together with Dutchman Joop Zoetemelk.
