2022 Tennessee Volunteers Baseball Team
The 2022 Tennessee Volunteers baseball team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Volunteers played their home games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Previous season The Volunteers finished 50–18, 20–10 in the SEC to finish in first place in the East division. They hosted the 2021 Knoxville Regional and finished 3–0. The Vols then hosted LSU in the Knoxville Super Regional, winning the first two games to advance to their first College World Series since 2005. The Vols lost both of their games in Omaha to Virginia and Texas. Oxford-University Stadium at Swayze Field is the home of the University of Mississippi Rebels college baseball team, the 2022 NCAA National Champions, and is located in Oxford, Mississippi. It is named in honor of Tom Swayze, a former Ole Miss baseball player and coach. The $3.75 million stadium opened on February 19, 1989, with a double header sweep of Cumberland University. The actual stadium sits on city property off-campus and was built by the City of Oxford, using a 2% Local Tourism Tax on prepared food and alcohol to pay for it. Kodak is an unincorporated community and a neighborhood of Sevierville in Sevier County, Tennessee, United States. It is located along State Highway 139 and State Highway 66, and just south of I-40 and Knoxville, Tennessee. The elevation of Kodak is about above sea level. Smokies Stadium (formerly known as Smokies Park) is a baseball stadium located in Kodak, Tennessee, just north of Sevierville and east of Knoxville, adjacent to the tourist centers of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The park, which opened in 2000, has a capacity of 6,412. It is the home of the Tennessee Smokies of the Southern League.
