2022 Taipei Open
The 2022 Taipei Open (officially known as the Yonex Taipei Open 2022) was a badminton tournament which took place at Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium in Taipei, Taiwan, from 19 to 24 July 2022 and had a total purse of $500,000. Hongkonger Ng Tsz Yau became the first player to win multiple categories in a single Taipei Open edition since American Tony Gunawan and Taiwanese Cheng Wen-hsing won the mixed doubles as a pair and their respective same-sex doubles finals in 2005. Tournament The 2022 Taipei Open was the fifteenth tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour and also part of the Taipei Open championships, which had been held since 1980. This tournament was organized by the Chinese Taipei Badminton Association with sanction from the BWF. Badminton World Federation
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales). In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF). Kiran George
Kiran George (born 11 February 2000) is an Indian badminton player who trains at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy. He won the Polish International title. He also competed in the 2020 Thomas Cup and 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships. Career 2021–22 In 2021, Kiran George's first tournament played was the Orléans Masters where lost to Brice Leverdez in the 3rd round. In September, Kiran played in the Polish International where he won the tournament beating Jason Teh in the finals winning his first ever tournament since the Ghana International in 2019. He also reached the semis of the Welsh International but lost to Siril Verma. Lu Chia-hung
Lu Chia-hung (; born 4 March 1997) is a Taiwanese badminton player who joined the national team since he was 12 years old. He competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Soong Joo Ven (; born 19 May 1995) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was part of the Malaysian team that won gold in the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event. Career 2011-2017 He won silver medal at the 2012 Asia Junior Championships in the boys' singles event after losing to Kento Momota of Japan. He was the runner-up of the 2015 Malaysia International Challenge tournament in the men's singles event, and in 2016, he also became the runner-up of the Scottish Open Grand Prix tournament. Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Koki Watanabe
is a Japanese badminton player. He graduated from the Saitama Sakae high school, and was part of the Unysis team since 2017. He won his first international title at the 2018 Yonex / K&D Graphics International tournament. Career Watanabe started his badminton career when he was four years old, entered the badminton club under the influence of his sister. Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo (born 15 June 1998) is an Indonesian professional badminton player. He was a World junior silver medalist in 2016 and Asian Championships bronze medalist in 2022. Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so.
