2022 South American Rugby League Championship
The 2022 South American Rugby League Championship was the fourth edition of the tournament and was held in Jericó, Colombia between 25 and 27 November 2022. The teams participating in the tournament were Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Brazil won the tournament, winning both their games. The tournament was also a qualification round for the 2025 Rugby League World Cup, as Brazil advance to the 2023 Americas Rugby League Championship where they will play against , and to determine which two sides will represent the Americas in France in 2025. The South American Rugby League Championship is a rugby league football tournament for South American national teams that was first held in 2018. History The inaugural South American Rugby League Championship was held in 2018 which was both hosted and won by Brazil in both the men's and women's tournament. However it wasn't until the second edition in 2022 that the tournament was played under International Rugby League specifications. The tournament acts as South American World Cup qualification tournament with the winners gaining the right to play in the Americas Rugby League Championship, the winner of that tournament qualifies for the World Cup. Brazil again won the 2022 edition. The 2022 women's tournament did not occur due to Brazil competing in the delayed 2021 World Cup. The 2018 South American Rugby League Championship will be held in São Paulo, Brazil and is going to be held on the 23rd to the 25th of November 2018. The tournament is the inaugural South American Championship. The teams participating in the tournament are Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. 2025 Rugby League World Cup
The 2025 Rugby League World Cup will be the seventeenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup and will be held in France in October and November 2025. Beyond the Rugby League World Cup, there will be several other separate World Cups under the tournament umbrella, including the women's, wheelchair and youth competitions. There will be 16 teams playing in the men's, as well as 16 teams playing in the women's, youth (Under-19 men) and wheelchair umbrella competitions.
