2022 Serbia EuroBasket Team
The 2022 Serbia EuroBasket team represented Serbia at the EuroBasket 2022 in the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, and Germany. Serbia finished at the 9th place with a 5–1 record, following a lost to in a Round of 16 game. Serbia qualified for the EuroBasket by winning the EuroBasket 2022 qualification Group E. The team is coached by FIBA Hall of Fame coach member Svetislav Pešić, with assistant coaches Oliver Kostić, Marko Marinović, and Saša Kosović. This will the seventh appearance of Serbia at the EuroBasket as an independent state; its best results are second places in 2009 and 2017. Oliver Kostić
Oliver Kostić ( sr-cyr, Оливер Костић; born 20 February 1973) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is currently the head coach of Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), as well as an assistant coach for the Serbia national team. Coaching career Between 2005 and 2010, Kostić was an assistant coach for Lottomatica Roma (Italy), Dynamo Moscow (Russia), and Crvena zvezda (Serbia); all under head coach Svetislav Pešić. Bogdan Bogdanović ( sr-cyr, Богдан Богдановић; born 18 August 1992) is a Serbian professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also represents the Serbian national basketball team internationally. He was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 27th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, with his draft rights being traded to the Sacramento Kings during the 2016 NBA draft. Crowne Plaza Belgrade is a four-star hotel located in New Belgrade, Serbia. With its 387 rooms and 29 suites, it is the biggest hotel in the city in terms of capacity. EuroBasket 2017
EuroBasket 2017 was the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe and held between 31 August and 17 September 2017. Beginning from 2017, the continental championships take place every four years with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Like the previous edition, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in Turkey, Finland, Israel and Romania. EuroBasket 2009
The 2009 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2009, was the 36th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe. The tournament, which was hosted by Poland, began on 7 September and concluded with the final on 20 September 2009. The competition served as a qualification tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Spain claimed their first EuroBasket title by routing Serbia 85–63 in the final.
