The 2022 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube was the third stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series and the 25th running of the event. The race was held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, in North Las Vegas, Nevada at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a permanent D-shaped oval racetrack. The race was extended from its scheduled 267 laps to 274 due to a NASCAR overtime caused by a crash including Erik Jones and Bubba Wallace. At race's end, Alex Bowman, driving for Hendrick Motorsports, would manage to climb to the front on the final restart and held off fellow teammate and eventual second-place finisher Kyle Larson to win his seventh career NASCAR Cup Series win and his first of the season. The Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held annually at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the first of two races at Las Vegas with the other one being the South Point 400 in the playoffs. The inaugural race was held in 1998. For several years, the race was sponsored by United Auto Workers and DaimlerChrysler. From its inception, the race was run at a distance of except 2009, which was 427 miles. The extra 27 miles in the 2009 race were added by the sponsors Carroll Shelby International. The race is unique in that its winner receives a championship belt rather than a trophy. 2022 NASCAR Cup Series
The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series will be the 74th season for NASCAR professional stock car racing in the United States and the 51st season for the modern-era Cup Series. The season will start at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum. That race will be followed by the Bluegreen Vacations Duel qualifying races, and the 64th running of the Daytona 500 on February 20 at Daytona International Speedway, the first points race of the season. The NASCAR playoffs will end with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 6. Austin Louis Cindric (born September 2, 1998) is an American professional auto racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 2 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR).
