The 2022 National Premier Leagues is the tenth season of the Australian National Premier Leagues football competition. The league competition is being played by eight separate state and territory member federations. The divisions are ACT, NSW, Northern NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. National Premier Leagues Northern NSW
The National Premier Leagues Northern NSW is a regional Australian Professional association football league comprising teams from Northern New South Wales. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league sits at Level 1 on the Northern New South Wales league system (Level 2 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Northern NSW Football, the governing body of the sport in the northern region of the state (the southern region is mostly governed by Football NSW). Prior to 2014, the league was formerly known as the Northern NSW State Football League. History The league originally started with 12 teams, all with a first grade, reserve grade and youth grade team. The league was then downsized to 10 teams still with all three grades. The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a national association football competition in Australia which acts as the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League. The NPL consists of the highest level state league in each state-based federation within Australia. In total the NPL is contested by clubs from eight divisions; these are ACT, NSW, Northern NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. Gungahlin United Football Club (formerly Juventus SC and Gungahlin Juventus SC) is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the Canberra district of Gungahlin, ACT. Gungahlin currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football with home matches played at the recently constructed Gungahlin Enclosed Oval. Maitland Football Club, commonly known as Maitland FC, or simply as Maitland, is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in East Maitland, a suburb of Maitland, New South Wales. Lake Macquarie City FC is a football club in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1912 formed by a group of Scottish miners in the area. Lambton Jaffas Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in Lambton a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. They compete in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW, the highest division of the New South Wales Football Leagues. History Lambton Jaffas started off as the senior team of ''Lambton Soccer Club'' which was established in 1957. The club prospered during the 1960s, with the clubs first All Age side being established in 1968. Edgeworth FC
Edgeworth Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the suburb of Edgeworth, near Newcastle, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. History The suburb of Edgeworth was known as Young Wallsend until 1960. The first recorded football match involving a Young Wallsend team took place on 14 May 1892, when Minmi Rangers defeated Young Wallsend 3–0 at the Young Wallsend ground. For most of the 20th century a lower-league club, Edgeworth won promotion into the Northern New South Wales 1st Division in 1973. Charlestown Azzurri FC (formerly Charlestown City Blues FC) is an Australian soccer club based in Whitebridge, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW (NPL NNSW).
