2022 Martensville International
The 2022 Curling Stadium Martensville International was held from September 1 to 5 at the Martensville Curling Club in Martensville, Saskatchewan. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of $22,250 on the men's side and $25,000 on the women's side. The event was sponsored by Curling Stadium, a streaming service provided by CurlingZone. All of the games were streamed on CurlingZone YouTube page. Martensville
Martensville is a city located in Saskatchewan, Canada, just north of Saskatoon, and southwest of Clarkboro Ferry which crosses the South Saskatchewan River. It is a bedroom community of Saskatoon. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344. The community is served by the Saskatoon/Richter Field Aerodrome located immediately west of the city across Highway 12. History In 1939, Isaac and Dave Martens purchased land north of Saskatoon. They then sold three small parcels of land to people who wanted to move out of Saskatoon and, as a result, the community of Martensville was created. Colton Flasch
Colton Flasch (born February 27, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He currently plays third on Team Mike McEwen. Career Juniors After having curled with the Mike Armstrong junior rink, Flasch joined the Braeden Moskowy rink at second position in 2010. The team won the Saskatchewan Junior championships that year, earning the rink the right to represent Saskatchewan at the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the Canadian Juniors, the team- which also included Kirk Muyres and Matt Lang- went undefeated (12-0) through the round robin, and proceeded to win the event by defeating Ontario's Mathew Camm in the final. The team would go on to represent Canada at the 2011 World Junior Curling Championships where they would find less success. Scott Chadwick
Scott Chadwick (born January 16, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Napanee, Ontario. He currently plays lead on Team Tanner Horgan. In 2021, he competed at the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. Career While at Queen's University at Kingston, Chadwick won the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships and placed fifth the following year at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey. Chadwick would later team up with Greg Balsdon and capture the 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2. In 2019, along with Scott McDonald, Jonathan Beuk and Wesley Forget, he represented Ontario at the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier where they finished with a 6–5 record. Patrick "Pat" Janssen (born May 12, 1987) is a Canadian curler from Burlington, Ontario. He currently plays second on Team John Epping. Career Youth Janssen skipped the University of Toronto men's curling team at the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, finishing with a 4–3 record. In 2005 he won the provincial schoolboy championship playing for his high school, Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute. Men's Janssen joined the Mark Kean rink in 2010, playing second on the team. In 2011, the team played in their first Grand Slam event, the January 2011 Canadian Open. The team finished the event with an 0–5 record. Mathew Camm
Mathew Robert "Mat" Camm (born March 29, 1990) is a Canadian curler from Cornwall, Ontario. He currently plays third on Team John Epping. Camm is originally from Rockland, Ontario. Career Juniors In 2007, Camm played second for the Neil Sinclair rink which won the Ontario Bantam boy's championship. The team also won the silver medal at the Canada Winter Games that year. In 2010, Camm lost in the final of the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships to Jake Walker. When Walker went on to win the Canadian Junior Curling Championships that year, he selected Camm to play as the team's alternate at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships, where the team won bronze medals. John Epping
John Allan Epping (born March 20, 1983) is a Canadian curler from Toronto, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of the Leaside Curling Club in East York, Toronto. Career Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Epping was a top junior curler, having won the Ontario Junior championship in 2004. At the 2004 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team finished with an 8-4 record, just out of the playoffs. He won the 2006 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with Julie Reddick, Scott Foster and Leigh Armstrong. He won the 2007 provincial mixed as well, but could not defend his national title. After Juniors, Epping played third for Nick Rizzo until switching positions with Rizzo in 2006, and thus skipping the team. Marcel Käufeler
Marcel Käufeler (born 19 January 1994 in Wettingen, Switzerland) is a retired Swiss curler. Career Käufeler joined the Yannick Schwaller rink at lead for the 2016–17 season. The team also included Romano Meier at third and Reto Keller at second. The team did not have very much success in their first season together and the teams second Reto Keller was replaced Käufeler's junior skip Michael Brunner for the 2017–18 season. Team Schwaller won their first tour event at the 2017 Qinghai International, losing only one game en route to claiming the title. They also reached the finals of both the DeKalb Superspiel and the Aberdeen International Curling Championship as well as the semifinals of the Oakville Fall Classic and the German Masters.
