2022 Malaysia Cup Final
The 2022 Malaysia Cup final was a football match played on 26 November 2022, to determine the champion of the 2022 Malaysia Cup. It was the final game of the 96th edition of the Malaysia Cup, organized by the Football Association of Malaysia. The final was played at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, between Johor Darul Ta'zim and Selangor. Johor won the game 2–1 and clinched their third Malaysia Cup title, and completed their first domestic treble. The winners should have qualified for the group stage of the 2023–24 AFC Cup. However, as Johor Darul Ta'zim had already qualified for the group stage of the 2023–24 AFC Champions League as the 2022 Malaysia Super League champions, the berth reserved was given to the third-placed team of the 2022 Malaysia Super League, Sabah. The Bukit Jalil National Stadium (Malay: Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil) in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. Muhammad Syafiq bin Ahmad (born 28 June 1995) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as forward for Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Arif Aiman bin Mohd Hanapi (born 4 May 2002) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Likas Stadium (Malay: ''Stadium Likas'') is a multi-purpose stadium in Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is mainly used for association football and athletics and it is located within Likas Sports Complex. It has been the home stadium of Sabah FC since its opening in 2001. The 2022 Malaysia Premier League is the 19th season of the Malaysia Premier League, the second-tier professional football league in Malaysia since its establishment in 2004. This will be the last season of Malaysia Premier League as the league will be discontinued for a few years before MFL reintroduce it as a semi-pro league.
