2022 Malaysia Cup Final
The 2022 Malaysia Cup final was a football match played on 26 November 2022, to determine the champion of the 2022 Malaysia Cup. It was the final game of the 96th edition of the Malaysia Cup, organized by the Football Association of Malaysia. The final was played at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, between Johor Darul Ta'zim and Selangor. Johor won the game 2–1 and clinched their third Malaysia Cup title, and completed their first domestic treble. The winners should have qualified for the group stage of the 2023–24 AFC Cup. However, as Johor Darul Ta'zim had already qualified for the group stage of the 2023–24 AFC Champions League as the 2022 Malaysia Super League champions, the berth reserved was given to the third-placed team of the 2022 Malaysia Super League, Sabah. The Bukit Jalil National Stadium (Malay: Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil) in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. With a capacity of 87,411, it is the largest in Southeast Asia, third largest in Asia, and the eighth largest football stadium in the world. Herlison Caion de Sousa Ferreira (born 5 October 1990), simply known as Caion, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a striker for Thai League 1 club Chonburi. Club career Early career Born in Caxias, Maranhão, Caion made his senior debuts with Iraty SC in 2008, after being a youth player for Icasa in the previous year. In 2009, he joined Ferroviário. Muhammad Syafiq bin Ahmad (born 28 June 1995) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as forward for Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Bérgson Gustavo Silveira da Silva (born 9 February 1991), simply known as Bérgson, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim.
