2022 Iraq FA Cup Final
The 2022 Iraq FA Cup Final was the 29th final of the Iraq FA Cup as a clubs-only competition. The match was contested between Al-Karkh and Al-Kahrabaa, at Al-Madina Stadium in Baghdad. It was played on 16 July 2022 to be the final match of the competition. Al-Karkh made their first appearance in the Iraq FA Cup final while Al-Kahrabaa made their second appearance. Al-Madina International Stadium ( ar, ملعب المدينة الدولي, lit=City Stadium) is a football stadium in Baghdad, Iraq. It is Iraq's first-ever stadium solar power plant, and the second in the Middle East of its kind. Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead.
