2022 Icelandic Super Cup
The Icelandic Men's Super Cup (Icelandic: ''Meistarakeppni karla'') is an annual football game between the reigning champions of the Úrvalsdeild karla and the Icelandic Cup holders (or, if the same team holds both titles, between the title-holder and (usually) the team in second place in the Úrvalsdeild or occasionally the second-place team in the Icelandic Cup). It generally takes place at the start of the Iceland domestic season, in May and has been running uninterrupted since 2003 (when the holders of the 2002 titles met). Before that the competition was uninterrupted between 1969 and 1999. Title-holders from 1999, 2000 and 2001 did not play for this title. The most successful team is Valur with a total of eleven wins. Atlantic Cup (Europe)
The Atlantic Cup was a friendly game contested between the champions of the Úrvalsdeild, Icelandic Premier League and the champions of the Faroe Islands Premier League. History In 1999 the Icelandic Champions from 1998, IBV Vestmannaeyar, visited the Faroe Islands to play a match against the Faroese champions from 1998, HB Tórshavn. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, but because it was a cup game, it was decided on penalties (no extra time was played). The Icelandic team scored on all of their attempts, while the Faroese Champions missed their first penalty, and therefore IBV Vestmannaeyar won the shootout 5-3. But it was HB who probably should have won the match, as they were leading both 1-0 and 2-1, but allowed IBV to equalize twice, the second equalizer was just 2 minutes from time. Breiðablik Men's Football
The Breiðablik men's football team is the men's football department of the Breiðablik multi-sport club. It currently plays in the Besta deild karla, the top-tier men's football league in Iceland; they finished 1st in 2022. The team is based in Kópavogur, a short distance south of Reykjavik. History Breiðablik's first competitive match was played on 12 June 1957, a 1–0 loss against Þróttur Reykjavík. Stjarnan Men's Football
The Stjarnan men's football team is the men's football department of the Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan multi-sport club.
