The 2022 Fiesta Bowl was a college football bowl game played on January 1, 2022, with kickoff at 1:00 p.m. EST (10:00 a.m. PST) and televised on ESPN. It was the 51st edition of the Fiesta Bowl, and was one of the 2021–22 bowl games concluding the 2021 FBS football season. Sponsored by video game brand PlayStation, the game was officially known as the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. Teams As one of the New Year's Six bowl games, the participants of the game were determined by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. This was the first time that Notre Dame and Oklahoma State have ever played each other. After the win, Oklahoma State now leads the series 1-0. State Farm Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Glendale, Arizona, United States, west of Phoenix. It is the home of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) and the annual Fiesta Bowl. State Farm Stadium replaced Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe as the home of the Cardinals. The 2021 Missouri State Bears football team represented Missouri State University as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) for the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by second-year head coach Bobby Petrino, and played their home games at Robert W. Plaster Stadium in Springfield, Missouri. This was the Bears 115th season overall and their 36th season as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The New Year's Six, sometimes abbreviated as NY6, is an unofficial but commonly used term used to describe the following NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) bowl games: the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Peach Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl. These games are played annually on or around New Year's Day and represent six of the ten oldest bowl games currently played at the FBS level. These six top-tier bowl games rotate the hosting of the two College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinal games, which determine the teams that play in the final College Football Playoff National Championship game.
