2022 Eliteserien
The 2022 Eliteserien will be the 78th season of top-tier football in Norway. This will be the sixth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen. The season is scheduled to begin on 2 April 2022 and end on 13 November 2022, not including play-off matches. Bodø/Glimt are the defending champions. HamKam, Aalesund and Jerv joined as the promoted clubs from the 2021 Norwegian First Division. They replaced Brann, Stabæk and Mjøndalen who were relegated to the 2022 Norwegian First Division. Teams Sixteen teams compete in the league – the top thirteen teams from the previous season, and three teams promoted from the First Division. The promoted teams were HamKam (returning to the top flight after a thirteen season absence), Aalesund (returning to the top flight after a one season absence) and Jerv (first season in the top flight). Fotballklubben Haugesund (English: ''Football Club Haugesund''), usually referred to as FK Haugesund or FKH, is a professional Norway, Norwegian association football, football club from the city of Haugesund, Rogaland, Norway. The club currently plays in the Norwegian Eliteserien, the first tier in the Norwegian football league system, after having been promoted in the 2008-2009 season. FK Haugesund previously played in the top division in 1996-1998 and 2000. Ålesund () sometimes spelled Aalesund in English, is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal County, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Sunnmøre and the centre of the Ålesund Region. Strømsgodset Toppfotball is a Norwegian professional association football, football club based in Gulskogen, Drammen, that competes in the Eliteserien (football), Eliteserien. It is the elite football section of the multi-sports club Strømsgodset IF. The multi-sports club was founded 10 February 1907, but the football team first found success in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Sandefjord Fotball, commonly known simply as Sandefjord, is a Norwegian professional football club, founded on 10 September 1998. The club currently competes in Eliteserien, the top tier of the Norwegian football league system. Their home ground is the Release Arena, located in Sandefjord, Vestfold. Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. The club was founded as Odd in 1917 but were not allowed to play amateur league matches until 1928, when they took the present name.
