2022 Donegal Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Donegal Senior Football Championship was the 100th official edition of Donegal GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Donegal. 16 teams competed, with the winner representing Donegal in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. St Eunan's was defending champion after defeating Naomh Conaill in the 2021 final. Naomh Conaill advanced again, to the 2022 final, where the club won this time, but in controversial circumstances, and by one point, after St Eunan's player Shane O'Donnell was sent off for patting Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí. Donegal Senior Football Championship
The Donegal Senior Football Championship (abbreviated as Donegal SFC) is an annual football competition organised by Donegal GAA and contested by the highest-level clubs, to determine the best team in County Donegal. Since 2016, it has been known as Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Donegal SFC after its headline sponsor. Initially a straight knock-out competition, the Donegal SFC added a round-robin group stage in 2013. The final is played at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey. The winning club qualifies to represent its county in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which go on to compete in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. The winning club receives the Dr Maguire Cup. The competition has been won by 17 clubs, 14 of which have won it more than once. St Naul's is a Gaelic football club in the parish of Inver in County Donegal, Ireland. They compete in the Donegal Senior Football Championship. CLG Ard an Rátha is a GAA club based in Ardara in County Donegal. The ''Ard an Rátha'' in the club's title is the place name in Irish, while ''CLG'' refers to "GAA". They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal. History The club was founded on 21 October 1921. St Michael's (''CLG Naomh Mícheál'') is a GAA club based in Creeslough/Dunfanaghy in County Donegal. Located in the north of the county, the club is affected by rural issues such as low population and emigration; despite this they play at the top level in the Donegal Senior Football Championship and opened a new clubhouse in 2010. CLG Chill Chartha is a GAA club based in Kilcar, County Donegal, in Ulster, Ireland. They have won the Donegal Senior Football Championship on six occasions, the last in 2017. Aodh Ruadh CLG are a GAA club based in the town of Ballyshannon in County Donegal. Historically one of their county's most successful GAA clubs, they have won 12 Donegal Senior Football Championships, they currently compete in Division 1 of the league and the Senior Championship. Four Masters is a GAA club located in the town of Donegal in County Donegal, Ireland. They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal.
