2022 Dallas Wings Season
The 2022 Dallas Wings season was the franchise's 25th season in the Women's National Basketball Association and the 7th season for the franchise in Dallas - after relocating from Tulsa and Detroit. This was second season under head coach Vickie Johnson. The season got off to an up and down start with the Wings losing their first game, but winning the next two. After losing the fourth game of the season, the team went on a three game winning streak. However, they ended the month with two losses and finished May with a 5–4 record. June started with their first five games being against Las Vegas or Seattle and the Wings went 1–4 in those games. In their final six games of the month they went 3–3 to finish June 4–7. WNBA Western Conference
The Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. North Florida Ospreys Women's Basketball
The North Florida Ospreys women's basketball team represent the University of North Florida (UNF) in women's college basketball. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference (A-Sun) in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). History North Florida began play in 1992. As of the end of the 2015–16 season, the Ospreys have an all-time record of 319–373. They have never made the Division I Tournament, but they made the Division II Tournament in 2003 and 2004. They played in the Peach Belt Conference (Division II) from 1997 to 2005. From its inception until 2015, Mary Tappmeyer coached the team until her contract was not renewed, and she sued the school for sex-discrimination and citing retaliation for complaints. Le'coe Willingham (born February 10, 1981) is an American professional basketball player. Attending Hephzibah High School, she won the 1998 AAAA Georgia State Women's state high jump title. She last played the forward position for the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA. Moriah Jefferson (born March 8, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Chelsea Dungee (born May 11, 1997) is an American basketball player who is an assistant coach for the Troy Trojans women's basketball team. She played college basketball at Oklahoma for one season and Arkansas for four seasons. High school Dungee played two years each at Preston High School, in Preston, Oklahoma, and Sapulpa High School, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago. The Sky compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Eastern Conference. The franchise was founded prior to the 2006 season. Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded before the 2000 season began. The team is owned by Herb Simon, who also owns the Fever's NBA counterpart, the Indiana Pacers, and Simon Malls. The Fever has qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in 13 of its 21 seasons in Indiana. Unique Thompson (born July 27, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who is a free agent in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was chosen in the second round of the 2021 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association. Thompson grew up in Theodore, Alabama, where she attended Faith Academy. Morgan Bertsch (born April 20, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. She was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the 2019 WNBA Draft. She played college basketball at UC Davis. College career Bertsch played her collegiate basketball for the UC Davis Aggies.
