Unique Thompson
Unique Thompson (born July 27, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who is a free agent in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was chosen in the second round of the 2021 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association. Thompson grew up in Theodore, Alabama, where she attended Faith Academy. She was the #74 overall recruit in her draft class and the #16 forward. Thompson played college basketball at Auburn University. She averaged 14.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in college on a 52.8% field goal percentage. Thompson was an All-American honorable mention in 2020 and 2021. She was named to the All-SEC First Team in 2020 and the Second Team in 2021. She totaled 1,540 career points; 1,156 rebounds, making her Auburn's all-time leading rebounds; and 58 double-doubles, which is also a team record. Faith Academy is an independent, religious, co-educational private school in Mobile, Alabama, United States. The school was founded as Lott Road Christian Grade School in 1969, and was located in Eight Mile, Alabama for nineteen years until moving to its current location in 1988. The school changed its name during the 1971-1972 school year to reflect its emphasis on faith. School history Faith Academy was first envisioned in early 1967 at a men's prayer meeting of Lott Road Baptist Church in Eight Mile, Alabama. Auburn Tigers Women's Basketball
The Auburn Tigers women's basketball program is the intercollegiate women's basketball team that represents Auburn University. The school competes in the Southeastern Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded before the 2000 season began. The team is owned by Herb Simon, who also owns the Fever's NBA counterpart, the Indiana Pacers, and Simon Malls. The Fever has qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in 13 of its 21 seasons in Indiana. Some of the players who have helped define the history of the Fever include the American players Tamika Catchings, Katie Douglas, and Tully Bevilaqua from Australia. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. In basketball, a double-double is a single-game performance in which a player accumulates ten or more in two of the following five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots.
