2022 Chadian Protests
In October 2022, protests broke out across Chad after President Mahamat Déby declared his intentions to extend his rule by another two years instead of stepping down like he intended to when he took power. The protests were some of the most violent in the country's history, with hundreds of protesters being killed and thousands detained, injured, or arrested. Background Longtime Chadian president and military junta leader Idriss Déby was killed in 2021, after ruling since 1990. His son, Mahamat Déby, was installed as leader, and promised to rule for eighteen months before transitioning to a civilian-led administration. In May 2022, protests broke out in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena against the presence of French troops in the country. These protests were backed by civil society group Wakit Tamma, who accused the Deby regime of being backed by France. The protesters viewed France as propping up the Deby regime, and the expulsion of French troops would subsequently lead to t ...

A hominid skull was found by Michel Brunet, that is more than 7 million years old, the oldest discovered anywhere in the world; it has been given the name Sahelanthropus tchadensis. In 1996 Michel Brunet had unearthed a hominid jaw which he named Australopithecus bahrelghazali, and unofficially dubbed Abel. It was dated using Beryllium based Radiometric dating as living circa. 3.6 million years ago. During the 7th millennium BC, the northern half of Chad was part of a broad expa ...

Suppression Of Dissent
Dissent is an opinion, philosophy or sentiment of non-agreement or opposition to a prevailing idea or policy enforced under the authority of a government, political party or other entity or individual. A dissenting person may be referred to as a ''dissenter''. The term's antonyms include ''agreement'', '' consensus'' (when all or nearly all parties agree on something) and ''consent'' (when one party agrees to a proposition made by another). Philosophical In philosophical skepticism, particularly that of Pyrrhonism, the existence of dissent is a rationale for suspending judgment regarding the issue associated with the dissent. Dissent in this respect appears as one of the tropes in the Five Modes of Agrippa, pointing to the uncertainty demonstrated by the differences of opinions among philosophers and people in general. Political Political dissent is a dissatisfaction with or opposition to the policies of a governing body. Expressions of dissent may take forms from ...
