2022 Budapest Formula 3 Round
The 2022 Budapest Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 30 and 31 July 2022 at the Hungaroring, Mogyoród, Hungary. It was the sixth round of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was held in support of the 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix. With Caio Collet and Alexander Smolyar winning the Sprint Race and the Feature Race respectively, MP Motorsport became the first team after Prema Racing in 2019 to win both races in a Formula 3 weekend and the first non-Prema team to do so. Driver changes Some driver changes occurred prior to the Budapest round, with current Euroformula Open championship leader Oliver Goethe making his FIA Formula 3 debut for Campos Racing by replacing Hunter Yeany, who is ruled out for the Budapest round due to a broken wrist sustained at the previous round in Spielberg. Hungaroring
The Hungaroring is a motorsport racetrack in Mogyoród, Pest County, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget – Budapest's largest park – but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. Construction works started on 1 October 1985. It was built in eight months, less time than any other Formula One circuit. The first race was held on 24 March 1986, in memory of János Drapál, the first Hungarian who won motorcycle Grand Prix races. Prema Powerteam (competing as Prema Racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and European Le Mans Series and as Prema Orlen Team in the FIA World Endurance Championship) is a motorsport team from Italy. ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. Hunter Yeany (born 11 May 2005) is an American racing driver who is currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Rodin Carlin.
