2022 Spielberg Formula 3 Round
The 2022 Spielberg Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 9 and 10 July 2022 at the Red Bull Ring, Spielberg, Austria. It was the fifth round of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was held in support of the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix. Driver changes The only driver change took part at MP Motorsport as Alexander Smolyar returned to the grid after being replaced by Euroformula Open driver Filip Ugran in Silverstone due to visa problems, preventing him from entering the United Kingdom. Classification Qualifying Hitech Grand Prix driver Isack Hadjar achieved his maiden pole position by 0.221 seconds ahead of fellow Frenchman and championship leader Victor Martins, and Oliver Bearman. Red Bull Ring
The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring (translation: Austrian Circuit) and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from to . It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring (A Eins-Ring), and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from to . When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. Parts of the circuit, including the pits and main grandstand, were demolished, but construction work was stopped and the circuit remained unusable for several years before it was purchased by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz and rebuilt. Alexander Smolyar
Alexander Alexandrovich Smolyar ( rus, Александр Александрович Смоляр; born 19 July 2001) is a Russian racing driver who most recently competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. Racing career Lower formulae 2017 was Smolyar's debut season in single-seater racing. He competed for SMP Racing in the Spanish and Russian Formula 4 Championships, finishing 3rd in both. He scored a total of 24 podiums, with all of his race wins coming in the Spanish Championship. William Alatalo
William Alatalo (born 19 April 2002) is a Finnish-Ethiopian racing driver from Ilmajoki who most recently raced for Jenzer Motorsport in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Career Karting Alatalo started karting in 2009. He had a successful karting career winning the Finnish championship in Cadet (2010), Raket (2014) and OKJ classes (2016). Formula STCC Nordic In 2017, Alatalo made his single-seater debut in Formula STCC Nordic with Kart In Club Driving Academy. Jenzer Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Switzerland. Founded in 1993 by Andreas Jenzer the team is currently competing in FIA Formula 3, Italian F4 and F4 Spanish and has had a number of drivers who would turn out to be successful in motorsport, most notably Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda. Ido Cohen (born 16 August 2001) is an Israeli racing driver who is currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Rodin Carlin. Career summary Lower formulae Cohen made his car racing debut in 2018, racing in Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4. Juan Manuel Correa Borja (born August 9, 1999) is an American-Ecuadorian racing driver who races under an American license and is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. Zane Maloney (born 2 October 2003) is a Barbadian racing driver. He was the 2019 British F4 champion and finished as runner-up in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, racing for Trident. Jonny Edgar (born 13 February 2004) is an English racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. He is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and is the 2020 ADAC Formula 4 champion. Career Karting Born in Whitehaven, Edgar started his career in 2012, being in the fourth generation of Edgars to practice motor racing. Kaylen Frederick (born 4 June 2002) is an American-German race car driver who is currently racing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for ART Grand Prix.
