2022 British Touring Car Championship
The 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (commonly abbreviated as BTCC) was a motor racing championship for production-based touring cars held across England and Scotland. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded amateur drivers competing in highly modified versions of family cars which are sold to the general public and conform to the technical regulations for the championship. The 2022 season was the 65th British Touring Car Championship season and the twelfth season for cars conforming to the Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) technical specification. Ashley Sutton
Ashley Sutton (born 15 January 1994) is a British racing driver, and three time British Touring Car Champion, who currently competes in the British Touring Car Championship with NAPA Racing UK. After winning the Renault Clio Cup UK in 2015, Sutton moved up to the British Touring Car Championship for the 2016 season with MG Racing RCIB Insurance. He won one race in his début season, before moving to Adrian Flux Subaru Racing for the 2017 season. Sutton failed to score a point in the opening meeting, but won six races thereafter to win the championship, the youngest champion since 1966. He moved to Laser Tools Racing in 2020, and would win the championship back to back in 2020 and 2021. He moved to NAPA Racing UK for the 2022 season. Daniel Lloyd (born 4 March 1992) is a British racing car driver and the 2009 champion of the Renault Clio UK Winter Cup. Lloyd was born in Huddersfield. After competing in the Skip Barber National Championship in the first half of 2010, he made his début in the British Touring Car Championship at Croft. In 2011 he raced in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup, qualifying on pole in his debut race and eventually scored two victories and finished third in the championship. Excelr8 Motorsport
EXCELR8 Motorsport is a British racing team that is headed by Justina Williams, and is currently competing in both the MINI CHALLENGE and British Touring Car Championship. The team has successfully competed in the MINI CHALLENGE since 2010 racking up multiple championships in both the Cooper and JCW classes, including in the most recent 2020 season when it carried Nathan Harrison to the JCW crown.
