2021–22 Syracuse Orange Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Syracuse Orange women's basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Orange were led by interim head coach Vonn Read. The Orange are ninth year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. Previous head coach Quentin Hillsman resigned amid investigations into allegations of inappropriate behavior on August 2, 2021. Associate head coach Vonn Read was named the interim head coach for the 2021–2022 season on August 4, 2021. The Orange finished the season 11–18 overall and 4–14 in ACC play to finish in a tie for eleventh place. As the twelfth seed in the ACC tournament, they lost to Clemson in their First Round matchup. Carrier Dome
The JMA Wireless Dome, originally the Carrier Dome (1980–2022) and colloquially called "The Dome," or more recently "The JMA Dome," is a domed sports stadium in Syracuse, New York. Located on the campus of Syracuse University in the University Hill neighborhood, it is home to the Syracuse Orange football, basketball, and lacrosse teams. In 2006–07, the women's basketball team began playing home games in the Carrier Dome. The 2020–21 South Dakota State Jackrabbits women's basketball represent South Dakota State University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Jackrabbits, led by twenty-first year head coach Aaron Johnston, compete in the Summit League. They play home games in Frost Arena in Brookings, South Dakota. Previous season The Jackrabbits went 23–10 overall and 13–3 in conference play, finishing second. South Dakota State played North Dakota in the quarterfinals, winning 72-43 and then followed it up two days later with a win in the semifinals against North Dakota State 76-56. Tiana Cynthia Mangakahia (born 21 April 1995) is an Australian basketball player who currently plays with the Northside Wizards in the NBL1 North.
