2021–22 Q Tour
The 2021–22 Q Tour was a series of snooker tournaments that took place during the 2021–22 snooker season. The Q Tour is the second-tier tour, run by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. Initially announced in July 2020, the tour was delayed by a year and started in late 2021. A series of four events were organised with the leading money-winner gaining a place on the main tour for the 2022–23 snooker season. Si Jiahui led the list but had already got a place on tour, so Sean O´Sullivan, who finished second, got the place. The 16 highest-ranked players who had not already got a place on the main tour for the 2022–23 season, gained entry to a further event, the WPBSA Q Tour Playoff, the winner of which also got a place. 2019–20 Challenge Tour
The 2019–20 Challenge Tour was a series of snooker tournaments that took place during the 2019–20 snooker season. The Challenge Tour (snooker), Challenge Tour was the second-tier tour for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. The top player in the final rankings earned a two-year card to the World Snooker Tour from the 2020–21 snooker season. The following eight players in the rankings progressed to a play-off event, with the winner of that event also receiving a two-year place on the World Snooker Tour. Two of the events were postponed: Event five was rearranged due to poor weather conditions, whilst the play-off was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Played between August and July, the series was contested over ten events. Ashley Hugill finished top of the rankings, winning two of the events. Robbie McGuigan
Robbie McGuigan (born 7 July 2004) is a professional snooker player from Northern Ireland. In 2023, he became a three-time Northern Ireland Amateur champion, whilst still a teenager. Early life From County Antrim, McGuigan attended Antrim Grammar School. He hit his first 147 break at thirteen years-old. Career In 2019 McGuigan made his debut at a ranking event when he was given a wildcard aged fifteen years-old to the 2019 Northern Ireland Open. He lost to his countryman Patrick Wallace. The following year he lost in the final of the Northern Ireland Amateur snooker final, on a deciding frame, 10–9 to Declan Lavery. Eden Sharav
Eden Sharav ( he, עדן שרב; born 30 April 1992) is an Israeli- Scottish former professional snooker player. He was born in Israel to an Israeli father and a Scottish-born mother. Career Amateur In 2010 Sharav reached the final of the Scottish amateur championship at the age of 17, one of the youngest players to compete in the final, the final was a best of 13 match against Bobby Cruickshanks, Eden lead the match 6-5 but eventually lost 7-6. In 2011 Sharav won the Pontins "Star of the Future" event aged 19 beating fellow Scotsman Ross Muir 4–0 in the final in Prestatyn. Nutcharut Wongharuthai
Nutcharut Wongharuthai (, ; born 7 November 1999), better known as Mink Nutcharut, is a Thai professional snooker player who is the reigning World Women's Snooker Champion. She and Neil Robertson are also the reigning World Mixed Doubles champions. She is the only woman known to have made a maximum break, having accomplished the feat during a practice match in March 2019. Mink was the World Women's Under-21 Champion in 2018, was runner-up in the 2019 World Women's Snooker Championship and won her first ranking title at the 2019 Australian Women's Open. She won her first women's world title at the 2022 World Women's Snooker Championship, where she recovered from 3–5 behind in the final to defeat Wendy Jans 6–5 on the final black. Sanderson Lam
Sanderson Lam () (born 28 January 1994) is an English professional snooker player. Early life Lam was born to Chinese parents in Leeds, England. His parents moved to England in the 1980s. Career In 2011 Lam started to take part in the Players Tour Championship, a tournament series for professionals and amateurs. In the first three tournaments in England, he lost the first match in each case, but at the Paul Hunter Classic in Fürth he secured two victories in the qualifying rounds and played Mark Williams where he was defeated 4–0. Sydney Wilson
Sydney Wilson (born 6 April 1990 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex) is an English former professional snooker player. Career Wilson began playing snooker at the age of three with his father teaching him the basics of the game. He later took lessons from Vic Harris, a former professional player. As a teenager, he beat most of the best players in his class and won several junior tournaments. At 15, he began playing in the Pontin's International Open Series. He participated for five seasons with his best finish being a second round defeat in 2009. Due to a lack of financial opportunities he had to sell his own snooker table and could not afford to practice full-time. Michael Georgiou
Michael Georgiou (born 18 January 1988) is a British-Cypriot former professional snooker player from Forest Hill. He is a practice partner of Igor Figueiredo and Hammad Miah, who practises at Whetstone Snooker Club. In 2018, Georgiou won his first professional ranking title by defeating Graeme Dott in the final of the Snooker Shoot-Out. Michael Georgiou made the 140th official maximum break in the third frame of the last 128 match against Umut Dikme at the 2018 Paul Hunter Classic. It was Michael's first professional maximum break. Liam Davies (snooker Player)
Liam James Davies (born 28 June 2006) is a Welsh amateur snooker player. Competing at the 2022 World Snooker Championship, Davies was the youngest player to win a match at the event. In addition to defeating Aaron Hill, Davies defeated Fergal O'Brien before losing on a to Jordan Brown in the penultimate qualifying round. As a result of high placing on the 2020–21 Q Tour, he was allowed to play in qualification events for the professional 2021–22 snooker season. In August 2022, Davies won three back-to-back junior world events, defeating Bulcsú Révész in the Under-16 championship and Antoni Kowalski in the Under-18 and Under-21 categories. He became the first player to win all three titles in a single year. Brandon Sargeant (born 28 June 1997) is an English former professional snooker player. Career Sargeant earned his place on the main tour after finishing top of the Challenge Tour 2018/2019 ranking list, earning him a two-year card for the 2019–20 and 2020/2021 seasons. Daniel Wells (snooker Player)
Daniel Wells (born 31 July 1988) is a Welsh former professional snooker player from Neath. He has twice come through Qualifying School to play on the professional snooker tour. Career Early career He was awarded the inaugural Paul Hunter Scholarship. Harvey Chandler (born 19 April 1995) is a former English professional snooker player from Northamptonshire. Simon Bedford (born 8 February 1976) is an English former professional snooker player. Career Bedford's best performance in a professional ranking event was to qualify for the 1998 World Championship; he beat Gary Wilkinson 10–9, before losing 10–6 to Steve Davis.
