Liam Davies (snooker Player)
Liam James Davies (born 28 June 2006) is a Welsh amateur snooker player. Competing at the 2022 World Snooker Championship, Davies was the youngest player to win a match at the event. In addition to defeating Aaron Hill, Davies defeated Fergal O'Brien before losing on a to Jordan Brown in the penultimate qualifying round. As a result of high placing on the 2020–21 Q Tour, he was allowed to play in qualification events for the professional 2021–22 snooker season. In August 2022, Davies won three back-to-back junior world events, defeating Bulcsú Révész in the Under-16 championship and Antoni Kowalski in the Under-18 and Under-21 categories. He became the first player to win all three titles in a single year. Tyler Rees (born 6 February 1999 in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire) is a Welsh amateur snooker player. He was Under-18 European Snooker Champion in 2016. Career In February 2016, Rees entered the 2016 EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championship as the number 15 seed, he managed to advance to the final where he defeated fellow countryman Jackson Page 5–2 in the final to win the inaugural championship. The Welsh Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament that has been held annually since 1992. It replaced the Welsh Professional Championship, which ran annually from 1980 to 1991 and was open only to Welsh players. The Welsh Open is now the longest running ranking event after the World Championship and the UK Championship.
