2021–22 New York Islanders Season
The 2021–22 New York Islanders season was the 50th season in the franchise's history. It was their first season in UBS Arena. Before the season, the Islanders lost Jordan Eberle to the Seattle Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. On April 17, 2022, the Islanders were eliminated from playoff contention following a 4–2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. After the season ended, the Islanders fired Barry Trotz as their head coach, ending his four-year tenure. The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. The New York Islanders are an American ice hockey team based in Uniondale, New York. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) Eastern Conference's Metropolitan Division. Since their inaugural season in 1972, the team has played its home games in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, but moved to the Barclays Center in 2015. Webster Bank Arena
Total Mortgage Arena (formerly The Arena at Harbor Yard and Webster Bank Arena) is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States. It is the home venue of the New York Islanders' AHL farm team, the Bridgeport Islanders. Managed by the Oak View Group, the arena was built alongside the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater and opened on October 10, 2001. Cory Schneider
Cory Franklin Schneider (born March 18, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils. Schneider was selected in the first round, 26th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Ken Appleby (born April 10, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Worcester Railers in the ECHL while under contract to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils. Playing career On October 5, 2015, Appleby signed a three-year entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2021–22 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 95th season of play and their 96th season overall.
