2021–22 Irish Super League Season
The 2021–22 Irish Super League season was the 48th running of Basketball Ireland's premier men's basketball competition, following the cancellation of the 2020–21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season featured 12 teams from across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Tralee Warriors were crowned National Cup and League champions. Super League (Ireland)
The Super League (formerly known as SuperLeague and Premier League) is the top tier men's basketball league in Ireland. The league has 14 teams (13 in the Republic of Ireland and one in Northern Ireland). The league is an active member of Basketball Ireland, which is recognised by FIBA (also known as the International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in Ireland. Neptune hold the record for most league titles, having won the competition 11 times. Leopardstown
Leopardstown () is a suburb of Dublin in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, within the traditional County Dublin, Ireland. Located at the foot of the Dublin Mountains, it is a residential suburb with institutional lands and a large racecourse. It is divided by the M50 motorway, and adjoins Sandyford, Stepaside, Ballyogan, Foxrock and Stillorgan. Templeogue Basketball Club is an Irish basketball club based in Dublin. The club has teams competing in Dublin Leagues and National Competitions, with the senior men's representative team, Griffith College Templeogue, playing in the Irish Super League. History Templeogue Basketball Club was established in 1976 by a group of Past Pupils from Templeogue College. It was not until 2012 that a senior men's team entered one of Ireland's national competitions. Killorglin () is a town in County Kerry, Ireland. As of the 2016 CSO census, the town's population was 2,199. Killorglin is on the Ring of Kerry tourist route, and annual events include the August Puck Fair festival, which starts with the crowning and parading of a "king" wild goat. Clontarf () is a largely affluent coastal suburb on the Northside of Dublin in the city's Dublin 3 postal district. Historically there were two centres of population, one on the coast towards the city, and the fishing village of Clontarf Sheds, further north on the coast at what is now Vernon Avenue. Killester Basketball Club is an Irish basketball club based in Dublin. Established in 1967 by Michael Casey, Killester is one of the oldest and most successful civilian basketball clubs in Ireland. The club's senior men's and women's representative teams both play in Ireland's top national leagues. Killester have training and playing facilities at St. David's CBS in Artane and St. Fintan's High School in Sutton. The Super League teams play their home games at the IWA Sports Hall in Clontarf.
