2021 World Series Of Darts Finals
The 2021 Jack's Casino World Series of Darts Finals was the seventh staging of the World Series of Darts Finals tournament, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament took place at AFAS Live, Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 29 to 31 October 2021. It featured a field of 24 players. Gerwyn Price was the defending champion, after beating Rob Cross 11–9 in the 2020 final, but lost to compatriot Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals. Clayton went on to win the title, defeating Dimitri Van den Bergh 11–6 in the final. This was the first time the tournament had taken place without any representatives from outside Europe. Prize money The prize money remained the same as the previous year. Qualification Due to the COVID-19 pandemic still being prevalent in 2021, only one event took place on the 2021 World Series of Darts, which was the 2021 Nordic Darts Masters. AFAS Live (formerly known as the Heineken Music Hall) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands, near the Johan Cruyff Arena. The 2021 BoyleSports World Grand Prix was a darts tournament and the 24th staging of the World Grand Prix. It was held from 3–9 October 2021 at the Morningside Arena in Leicester, England. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was held away from the Citywest Hotel in Dublin for the second consecutive year. Gerwyn Price was the defending champion, after defeating Dirk van Duijvenbode 5–2 in the 2020 final, but lost 5–1 to Jonny Clayton in the first all-Welsh major ranking final in PDC history. The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. The 2021 Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters was the inaugural staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and the first entry in the 2021 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players and eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Forum Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark on 17–18 September 2021. Michael van Gerwen won his 16th World Series event defeating Fallon Sherrock 11–7 in the final. Van Gerwen won his first title overall in 2021, ending a 292 days streak without any tournament win. In 2021, there were set to be five World Series events and one finals event, which for 2021 was moved from Salzburg, Austria to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
