The 2021 SuperLiga (also known as the CEC Bank SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) is the 107th season of premier club rugby in Romania, and the 10th season of the competition under the name of the CEC Bank SuperLiga. Starting with this edition, Gloria Buzău will no longer participate in the SuperLiga due to the dissolvation of the club last year. Marius Octavian Dănilă (born 8 March 1987) is a Romanian rugby union player. He plays as a lock for professional SuperLiga club Știința Baia Mare. Club career Before joining Știința Baia Mare in 2006, Dănilă played as a youth for a local Romanian club based in Gura Humorului, namely CSȘ Gura Humorului. The Steaua Stadium ( ro, Stadionul Steaua), informally also known as Ghencea, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It primarily serves as the home stadium of FCSB and CSA Steaua București, replacing the former venue. The new stadium cost €95 million and is located in the neighbourhood of Ghencea. It seats 31,254 spectators. Notable events The stadium was inaugurated on 7 July 2021, with a match between Steaua and OFK Beograd, the same team with whom they had inaugurated the previous stadium back in 1974. Radu Petrescu (rugby Referee)
Radu Petrescu (born 19 April 1980) is a Romanian rugby referee who mainly referees club rugby in such tournaments as the Romanian SuperLiga. Player career Petrescu started playing rugby in 1990 with local team Grivița. At the end of his junior years he played for a short period of time for SuperLiga giants, Steaua. He ended his playing career just before moving to seniors, choosing to concentrate on his studies at the University of Bucharest. Referee career Petrescu started his refereeing career in 2000 and is considered by many one of the most valuable referees in Romanian Rugby. Cristian Săuan
Cristian Daniel Săuan (born 18 March 1974 in Cluj-Napoca) is a former Romanian rugby union player. He played as a wing. Săuan played for U Cluj, in Romania, from 1992/93 to 2000/01. He was runners-up of the National Championship in 2000/01, his best result at the team. He moved to become a professional in Rugby Rovigo Delta, in Italy, where he played from 2001/02 to 2006/07. He was runners-up to the Cup of Italy in 2006. He moved afterwards to San Marco Rugby Club, playing there from 2007/08 to 2008/09.
