2021 Split Local Elections
The 2021 Split local elections were elections for the 72nd Mayor of Split, the two deputy mayors and the 31 members of the Split City Council. It is a part of the Croatian local elections, which are taking place on 16 and 30 May 2021. The incumbent mayor, Andro Krstulović Opara of the Croatian Democratic Union, announced on 6 February 2021 that he will not run for another term because of his health condition. The Croatian Party of Rights ( hr, Hrvatska stranka prava or HSP) is an extra-parliamentary nationalist political party in Croatia. The "right(s)" in the party's name refer to the legal and moral reasons that justify the independence and autonomy of Croatia. While the HSP has retained its old name, today it is a far-right party with an ethnocentric platform. The Croatian Peasant Party of Stjepan Radić ( hr, Hrvatska seljačka stranka Stjepana Radića or HSS SR) is a minor Croatian political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2007, Croatian Peasant Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the New Croatian Initiative merged. The New Croatian Initiative was formed as a splinter group from the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Krešimir Zubak. They were originally named HSS-NHI (CPP-NCI). After HSS-NHI underwent turmoil and internal divisions grew, a division of former HSS members led by Ljiljana Lovrić left the party and reestablished HSS in 2010. People's Party – Reformists ( hr, Narodna stranka – Reformisti or NS-R) is a liberal political party in Croatia. History The civil initiative for the establishment of the party was launched by former Croatian People's Party – Liberal Democrats (HNS) chief Radimir Čačić and his associates Natalija Martinčević and Petar Baranović. More than two-thirds of the party members are former members of the HNS which left the party because of disagreements with its leadership over the exclusion of Radimir Čačić from the party while he was serving a prison sentence for unintentionally causing a traffic accident with two fatalities. The Croatian Peasant Party ( hr, Hrvatska seljačka stranka, HSS) is an agrarian political party in Croatia founded on 22 December 1904 by Antun and Stjepan Radić as Croatian Peoples' Peasant Party (HPSS). The Brothers Radić believed that the realization of Croatian statehood was possible within Austria-Hungary, but that it had to be reformed as a Monarchy divided into three equal parts – Austria, Hungary, Croatia. After the creation of Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1918, Party requested for the Croatian part of the Kingdom to be based on self-determination.
