2021 PVL Open Conference
The 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the tenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''37th conference of the former Shakey's V-League'') and its first conference as a professional league. The conference started on July 17, 2021 and ended on August 13, 2021, at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte in a bubble. The PVL has been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to begin team practices to be followed by the official start of the 2021 season. In January 2021, it was reported that Motolite filed a leave of absence from the league and released all of its players. The Philippine Army Lady Troopers will participate as a guest team. Bacarra
Bacarra, officially the Municipality of Bacarra ( ilo, Ili ti Bacarra; tl, Bayan ng Bacarra) is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 33,496 people. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. UAC Power Hitters
The Unlimited Athletics Club Power Hitters are a professional volleyball club which was set to play in the Premier Volleyball League (formerly Shakey's V-League). History The Unlimited Athletics Club was originally formed as the Peak Form Lady Spikers and slated to be one of the new teams debuting in the Premier Volleyball League's 2021 season. The team was organized by Jovito Ong of the Philippine Confederation of Sports Development Foundation and sponsored by Peak Form, a sports conditioning and recovery center. In March 2021, the team reverted their name to UAC. The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers is a professional women's volleyball club in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team is owned by Efren E. Uy (Chairman, President, and CEO) of F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc. Background The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers was formed by F2 Logistics Philippines Inc. It debuted in the Philippine Super Liga, Philippine Superliga (PSL) in 2016 PSL season, 2016. On March 11, 2021, the team announced it has joined the professional Premier Volleyball League (PVL), following the exodus of other PSL teams to the PVL. PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters
The PLDT High Speed Hitters (formerly the Smart Giga Hitters and the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters) is the professional women's volleyball team owned by PLDT. History The team debuted in 2018 as the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters. The team was owned by Smart Communications. For the 2018 PSL Invitational Cup, the team partnered with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers and competed as the Smart–Army Giga Hitters. In September 2018, the PayMaya High Flyers, their affiliate team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), was merged with the team. In February 2019, the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters changed its name to the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters. The team transferred to the PVL in February 2021, following the league's professionalization. The Philippine Super Liga (PSL; alternatively spelled as Philippine Superliga) was a non-professional corporate club women's volleyball league in the Philippines. It was first organized by SportsCore Event Management and Consultancy, Inc. and later owned by Athletic Events & Sports Management Group (ACES), Inc. The league was envisioned to provide former collegiate players a league with which they can continue with their volleyball career. The PSL also had a men's division from 2013 to 2014, although its beach volleyball tournament both have a women's and men's division since its inception. The Philippine Army Lady Troopers, also known as the Black Mamba–Army Lady Troopers for sponsorship reasons, is the official women's professional volleyball team of the Philippine Army. The team is composed of enlisted personnel and reinforced with civilian players from time to time. The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is a task force organized by the executive of the government of the Philippines to respond to affairs concerning emerging infectious diseases in the country.
