The 2021 Nashville SC season was the club's second season as a member of Major League Soccer. This was the club's last season in the Eastern Conference after being added to the Conference in 2020 after the MLS is Back Tournament as the club returns to the Western Conference the following season in 2022 due to the addition of Charlotte FC. Nashville Soccer Club is a Major League Soccer team based in Nashville, Tennessee. The team began play in the league in 2020 as a continuation of the USL club of the same name and plays its home matches at Geodis Park. It is principally owned by John Ingram, owner of Ingram Industries, along with investors and partial owners the Turner family of Dollar General Stores. History Soccer in Nashville Prior to the arrival of Nashville's MLS team, the city had various soccer teams which played in the lower divisions of American soccer. The most notable teams were the Nashville Metros who played from 1989 until 2012 and Nashville FC, who played in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) from 2013 to 2016. Joe Willis (American Soccer)
Joseph Mark Willis (born August 10, 1988) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Nashville SC. Early career Willis played high school soccer for Chaminade College Preparatory in St. Louis. Willis played soccer for University of Denver from 2006 to 2010, serving as the starter from 2008 to 2010. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2008, and was named All-MPSF from 2008 to 2010. While at Denver, he also played for the USL Premier Development League Real Colorado Foxes. LA Galaxy, also known as the Los Angeles Galaxy, are an American professional soccer club based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. David Romney (born June 12, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Major League Soccer club New England Revolution. Career Born and raised in Irvine, California, Romney began his professional career with LA Galaxy II, having previously played in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with the Irvine Strikers as well as the University of San Francisco men's soccer team and amateur club San Francisco City FC. Jalil Anibaba (; born October 19, 1988) is an American former professional soccer player who last played in Major League Soccer for Columbus Crew. He is currently a club ambassador for Nashville SC. Career College and amateur Anibaba grew up in Davis, California where he attended Davis Senior High School, where in his senior season he was the California Gatorade Soccer Player of the year, and played college soccer at Santa Clara University for the first three years of his college career. Daniel Harry Lovitz (born August 27, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. Club career Early career Lovitz grew up playing youth soccer in Eastern Pennsylvania for Lower Merion Soccer Club Velez. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Men's Soccer
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's soccer team represents Coastal Carolina University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team competes in the Sun Belt Conference, following previous tenures in Conference USA and Big South Conference, both of which had been prior conference homes for that ream. During their Big South tenure, the Chanticleers were one of that league's more successful teams, both within the conference and in the NCAA Tournament. Tor Saunders (born April 30, 1998) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for North Carolina FC in USL League One. Career Youth Saunders attended Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, Washington, also playing with the Seattle Sounders FC academy from 2013 to 2016.
