2021 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The 2021 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the thirty-seventh season of the Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT), a stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 200 at Martinsville Speedway on April 8 and concluded at Stafford Motor Speedway on September 25. Defending series champion Justin Bonsignore won another championship and his third in total after previously winning the 2018 title. Schedule On December 11, 2020, NASCAR announced the 2021 Whelen Modified Tour schedule. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) (previously the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour and NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series from 1985 until 2005) is a modified stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR in the Modified Division. The Modified Division is NASCAR's oldest division, and is the only open-wheeled division that NASCAR sanctions. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events are mainly held in the northeastern United States, but the 2007 and 2008 tours expanded to the Midwest with the addition of a race in Mansfield, Ohio. The tour races primarily on short oval paved tracks, but the NWMT also has made appearances at larger ovals and road courses. Frank Douglas Coby III (born August 18, 1979) is an American professional racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, driving the No. 10 Ford/Chevrolet for his team, Doug Coby Racing, he has also competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing. He is a six-time champion of the Whelen Modified Tour, winning titles in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Patrick Emerling
Patrick W. Emerling (born September 19, 1992) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet for his own team, Emerling Motorsports, as well as part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 35 Chevrolet Camaro/Toyota Supra for Emerling-Gase Motorsports, a team that he co-owns with fellow driver Joey Gase. Ryan Preece
Ryan Jeffrey Preece (born October 25, 1990) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 41 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing. Preece previously competed in what is now the ARCA Menards Series East and West.
