2021 MAC Championship Game
The 2021 MAC Championship Game was a college football game played on December 4, 2021, at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. It was the 25th edition of the MAC Football Championship Game and determined the champion of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for the 2021 season. The game began at 12:00 p.m. EST and aired on ESPN. The game featured the Northern Illinois Huskies, the Western Division champions, and the Kent State Golden Flashes, the Eastern Division champions. Sponsored by mortgage lending company Quicken Loans through their Rocket Mortgage brand, the game was officially known as the Rocket Mortgage MAC Championship Game. The MAC Football Championship Game is a football game between the winners of the East and West divisions of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) to determine the conference champion. History The game has been played since 1997, when the conference was first divided into divisions and since 2020 has been sponsored by Rocket Mortgage (officially known as the Rocket Mortgage MAC Football Championship). The winner of the game is guaranteed a berth in a bowl game which the MAC has contractual obligations to field a team. Dustin Crum (born January 5, 1999) is a gridiron football quarterback for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Kent State. Crum has also been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. Early life and high school Crum grew up in Grafton, Ohio and attended Midview High School, where he played baseball, basketball and football. As a senior he completed 173 of 279 passes for 2,615 yards and 32 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,557 yards and 14 touchdowns and was named Division II All-Ohio First-team and a finalist for Mr. Ohio Football.
