2021 International Film Festival Rotterdam
The 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam, was the 2021 installment of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, which took place on 1–7 February 2021 and 2–6 June 2021. The first part of the edition focused on the main Tiger, Big Screen, Ammodo Tiger Short, and Limelight programmes. Whilst, the second part focused on the Harbour, Bright Future, Cinema Regained, Classics and Short and Mid-Length Film sections. The event was presented as a hybrid event, with a film programme was available online in the Netherlands whilst physically screened in cinemas across the country. Indian drama film, '' Pebbles'' by Vinothraj P.S., won Tiger Award, the top prize. Riders Of Justice
''Riders of Justice'' ( da, Retfærdighedens Ryttere) is a 2020 Danish action comedy film directed and written by Anders Thomas Jensen. The film was released in Denmark on 19 November 2020, receiving positive reviews from critics. Plot Mathilde loses her mother in a train accident and her father, Markus, a serving soldier in Afghanistan, comes home to console his grieving daughter. Mathilde and Markus find it difficult to come to terms with the tragedy, causing strain in their relationship. However, Markus is approached by a man named Otto (who was on the same train with Markus's wife) who informs him that the train accident wasn't a coincidence, but a planned murder to eliminate a key witness about to give evidence against the head of Riders of Justice motorbike gang. Helena Van Der Meulen
Helena van der Meulen is a Dutch screenwriter, film critic and TV writer. She has won the Golden Calf Award for Best Screenplay for ''Joy'' (2010). Biography Helena van der Meulen studied philosophy and film at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, van der Meulen wrote film reviews for the Dutch film magazine Skrien''.'' In September 1991, she was the head of publicity at the Dutch Film Museum. During an interview, director Heddy Honigmann asked van der Meulen to collaborate on her next screenplay, ''Tot Ziens'' (1995). The film was critically acclaimed and won prestigious awards. Paz Fábrega
Paz Fábrega (born 1979) is a Costa Rican film director, scriptwriter and producer. She has directed two feature films and several shorts. Her film ''Agua fría de mar'' (Cold Water of the Sea) earned the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, one of the most prominent awards won by a Central American film. Her works deal with loneliness and the vulnerability of youth. Early life Fábrega was born in San José, Costa Rica. She lived in New York City from ages 10–14 as her mother worked on her doctorate. VPRO
The VPRO (stylized vpro; originally an acronym for , ) is a Dutch public broadcaster, which forms a part of the Dutch public broadcasting system. Founded in 1926 as a liberal Protestant broadcasting organization, it gradually became more social liberal than Protestant in the 1950s and 1960s, and the original meaning of the acronym was eventually dropped.
