The 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour was an endurance race for Group 3E Series Production Cars. The event, which was staged at the Mount Panorama Circuit, near Bathurst, in New South Wales, Australia, on 4 April 2021, was the fifth running of the Bathurst 6 Hour. The race was won by Shane Smollen, Rob Rubis and Shane van Gisbergen, driving a BMW M4. Bathurst 6 Hour
The Bathurst Motor Festival is an annual motor racing event held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia during the Easter long weekend. The event was first held in 2011 as a replacement for the Festival of Sporting Cars and as a way to give a higher number of drivers the opportunity to drive on the circuit. The event plays host to a variety of racing categories, including production cars, sports cars, open-wheel racing cars and historic cars, which take part in sprint races, endurance races and regularity sessions. Around 300 vehicles are entered for the event each year, with crowds of up to and over 10,000 people attending the event. Car clubs also attend the event, displaying their cars within the confines of the circuit and performing parade laps. Steven Ellery (born 22 August 1974 in Melbourne) is a retired Australian racing driver known from V8 Supercars. Racing history Early career Ellery started racing in karts before graduation to Formula Ford in 1992. Garth Walden
Garth Walden is best known as a race driver in his native Australia. He is the son of well-known Sydney race specialist Brian Walden. He has raced in various classes, probably known for his V8 Supercar Season in 2004, driving a privately entered ex Glenn Seton Ford Falcon (AU) where he entered 6 events, qualifying for only 5 of them. 2006 saw him enter the Australian Formula 3 Championship but not start any races. 2007 and 2008 he raced in the Bathurst 12 Hour and 2007 Australian Production Car Championship finishing 8th. 2008 saw him attempt a return to V8 Supercar competition again with his father's Walden Motorsport team after being granted the 32nd licence. Walden Motorsport is a specialist race car preparation outfit in Western Sydney owned by Brian Walden. History Running in Production Car and Improved Production Car events, it entered the 1997 ARDC AMSCAR series and Bathurst 1000 with an ex Terry Finnigan Holden Commodore (VP). In 2004, the team debuted in the main V8 Supercar series at round 6 with Brian's son Garth driving an ex Glenn Seton Racing Ford Falcon (AU) using a franchise leased from Romano Racing. Miedecke Motorsport is an Australian motor racing team that is competing in Australian GT. It has previously competed in touring car racing between 1987 and 1989, and an earlier form of the team also competed in open wheel racing between 1981 and 1983. Tim Slade (born 3 August 1985) is an Australian racing driver who competes in the Repco Supercars Championship. Slade currently drives the No. 3 Ford Mustang GT for Blanchard Racing Team. David Russell (born 4 January 1982) is an Australian racing driver. Russell has competed in the Repco Supercars Championship intermittently since 2003 and is now an endurance co-driver in the Pirtek Enduro Cup with Erebus Motorsport in a Holden Commodore (ZB), alongside Brodie Kostecki.
