2021 Grand Slam Of Darts
The 2021 Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts was the fifteenth staging of the Grand Slam of Darts, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The event returned to the Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton between 13–21 November 2021, after being held behind closed doors at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry in 2020. José de Sousa was the defending champion, after defeating James Wade 16–12 in the 2020 final, but he was eliminated in the second round, losing 10–9 to Peter Wright. Gerwyn Price won the tournament for the third time in four years, defeating Peter Wright 16–8 in the final. Due to the dissolution of the British Darts Organisation in 2020, there was no BDO/WDF representation for the first time in the event's history. During her 5–0 victory over Mike De Decker in the group stage, Fallon Sherrock averaged 101.55, setting a new record for the highest televised average by a woman. Aldersley
Aldersley is a small suburb of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It is north-west of Wolverhampton city centre, within the Tettenhall Regis ward. Aldersley is a relatively modern part of Wolverhampton, with most of the housing stock – both private and council – dating from after World War II. The Smestow Valley Leisure Ride starts from there and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal passes through the area. Mensur Suljović
Mensur Suljović (Serbian Cyrillic: Менсур Суљовић; born 5 March 1972) is an Austrian professional darts player. He plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, having previously played in the British Darts Organisation (BDO). Nicknamed The Gentle, Suljović is noted for his unorthodox throwing action and favouring double 14 as his finishing double where possible. Suljović is the number one Austrian player in the PDC and reached his first major final in 2016 at the European Championship. He went one step further in winning his first major TV title at the 2017 Champions League of Darts, defeating two-times world champion Gary Anderson on two occasions. Personal life Suljović has been living in Vienna since 1993. He escaped from war-torn Serbia to live in Austria together with his older brothers. 2021 World Grand Prix (darts)
The 2021 BoyleSports World Grand Prix was a darts tournament and the 24th staging of the World Grand Prix (darts), World Grand Prix. It was held from 3–9 October 2021 at the Leicester Arena, Morningside Arena in Leicester, England. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was held away from the Citywest, Citywest Hotel in Dublin for the second consecutive year. Gerwyn Price was the defending champion, after defeating Dirk van Duijvenbode 5–2 in 2020 World Grand Prix (darts), the 2020 final, but lost 5–1 to Jonny Clayton in the first all-Wales, Welsh major ranking final in PDC history. This was also Clayton's first PDC ranking major title win, as his previous three wins (the 2020 PDC World Cup of Darts (alongside Price), the 2021 Masters (darts), 2021 Masters and the 2021 Premier League Darts) were all in non-ranking events.
