2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships – Women's 400 Metres
The women's 400 metres event at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held on 5 March 2021 at 11:22 (heats) and at 19:33 (semi-finals), and on 6 March 2021 at 20:25 (final) local time. Medalists Records Results Having run 50.64 earlier in the winter, the fastest time by a European woman since 2009, Femke Bol entered the Championships as the overwhelming favorite. Her Dutch teammate, Lieke Klaver, was the second-fastest European woman of the indoor season with 51.21, a top 5 time by a European woman in the last ten years and over half a second faster than the third fastest woman of the season. 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 4 to 7 March 2021 at the Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland. This was the second time this event was held in Poland after the 1975 edition in Katowice. The four-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events. Altogether 659 athletes from 46 countries participated in the event which is a record in the competition's history. The Netherlands topped the medal table for the first time with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Katarzynka, a gingerbread, was the mascot. Phil Healy
Phil Healy (born 19 November 1994) is an Irish athlete competing in sprinting events. Her sister Joan Healy is also a sprinter. She set an Irish 200m national record in July 2018. In the 2018 European Championships, she placed fourth with a time of 23.23. A video of Phil Healy winning the final leg of the 4 x 400 metre Irish University Championships in 2016 went viral around the world. Her winning run is often cited as one of the greatest athletics comebacks of all time. Lada Vondrová (born 6 September 1999) is a Czech track and field athlete who specializes in sprint races. She won several Czech national titles. Career Vondrová competed in the women's 400 metres at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships where she finished 13th in the semifinal. At the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar, Vondrová finished the semifinals of the 400 m event in 20th place. Lisanne De Witte
Lisanne de Witte (born 10 September 1992) is a Dutch sprinter who specialises in the 400 metres. She won bronze medals in this event at the 2018 European Championships and 2019 European Indoor Championships, and took several medals as part of the Dutch 4 × 400 m relays. De Witte competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on the Dutch 4 × 400 m relay team who ran a national record of 3:26.98. She also competed in the 400 metres event at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships. She ran a personal best of 52.61 s in the series and came in third in the semifinals, but was excluded from the finals after the US team argued that she had impeded Joanna Atkins, who came in fourth behind her. Anna Ryzhykova
Anna Vasylivna Ryzhykova, nee Yaroshchuk ( ua, Анна Василівна Рижикова (Ярощук); born 24 November 1989) is a Ukrainian track and field athlete who specialises in the 400 metres hurdles. At the European Athletics Championships, she won silver medals in 2012 and 2018, and bronze in 2022. Ryzhykova placed fifth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She won gold medals at the 2011 Summer Universiade and European U23 Championships. Ryzhykova is the Ukrainian record holder in her specialist event with a time of 52.96 seconds. Career Anna Yaroshchuk began her career in the sprinting events and represented Ukraine in the 200 metres at the Gymnasiade in 2006. In 2007, she ran a personal best of 24.58 seconds for the event and in a team with Hanna Titimets, Nataliya Pohrebnyak and Yelizaveta Bryzhina she set a national junior record in the 4×100 metres relay to take the silver medal at the 2007 European Athletics Junior Championships.
