2021 BAUHAUS-galan
The 2021 BAUHAUS-galan was the 54th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. Held on 4 July 2021 at Stockholm Olympic Stadium, it was the fifth leg of the 2021 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. The meeting was highlighted by the women's 400 m hurdles, where Femke Bol and Shamier Little ran the #4 and #5 performances of all time in a close finish. Results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned extra compensation and points which went towards qualifying the Diamond League finals in Zürich. Jerome Blake (born August 18, 1995) is a Canadian track and field athlete specializing in the sprint events. As a member of the Canadian 4×100 m relay team, he is the 2020 Olympic silver medalist and the 2022 World champion. Career Early career Blake was born in Buff Bay, Jamaica, where he started his young track career as a hurdler in the 400 m. After attending his brother's soccer game, he began testing his speed on track which a coach noticed and convinced him to switch to sprinting. The Blake family moved to Canada in 2013, taking up residence in Kelowna, British Columbia initially, and eventually moving to Burnaby. Because he did not acquire Canadian citizenship until 2018, he was unable to participate in many international junior competitions, though he remarked that had he been born in Canada "I probably would have been playing hockey." Elliot Giles
Elliot Giles (born 26 May 1994) is an English middle-distance runner from Birmingham, specialising in the 800 metres. He is best known for winning the bronze at the 2016 European Championships. Career In August 2014, he had a serious motorcycle accident which prevented him from competing for two years. His breakthrough year was 2016 when he became British champion over the distance, and was selected for the senior GB team for the first time at the European Athletics Championships where he won a surprise bronze medal. His new personal best of 1:45.54, set in the final, qualified him for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Marco Arop
Marco Arop (born September 20, 1998) is a Canadian track and field athlete competing in the middle distance events. He currently holds a personal best of 1:43:26 in the 800 m. He is the 2022 World bronze medallist and the 2019 Pan American champion in that discipline. Arop represented Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich (born 30 November 1989) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner who competes in the 800 metres. He has a personal best of 1:42.54 minutes for the event. He represented Kenya at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics and was a gold medallist in the 4×800 metres relay at the 2014 IAAF World Relays. Emil Johansson (born 10 June 2002) is a Swedish sprinter. He was the 2020 Swedish Indoor Athletics Championships winner in the 400 metres. Deon Kristofer Lendore (28 October 1992 – 10 January 2022) was a Trinidad and Tobago sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres.
